iPad-only Schools

In the Netherlands, a chain of schools are preparing to become iPad-only learning facilities, according to Gigaom. Eleven sites known as the Steve Jobs school system, reported in Spiegel Online, will not offer the usual school supplies like notebooks, books, chalkboards, or even laptops. Amit Gupta/flickr The school will be open on working days from 7:30 in the morning and closes around 6:30 in the evening. The students can come in and out though they should be present from 10:30 am to 3:00 pm. They can attend classes at their preferred time, without fearing they might miss their classes. The students will use a learning application on their respective iPads. They will be given school works and assignments anytime, instead of relying on teachers in a real classroom. These innovative Dutch schools will be known as “Steve Jobs school,” named after Apple co-founder Steve Jobs and his clear vision of the post-PC world. He also stressed the importance of education.
