GP's accept care agreement
GPs have almost unanimously accepted the healthcare agreement on Tuesday that was signed this summer. This is announced by the National Association of General Practitioners (LHV).Part of the agreement, signed by Minister Schippers with all major HMOs is that GPs play a greater role in health care. For example he wants them to perform more hospital care. For this purpose more funds will be made available.

President Steven van Eijck the LHV is pleased with the acceptance by the GPs. The general practitioner can continue to be a director of care in his area and be a gatekeeper for the second line. The real winner is the patient, because he/she is insured of sensible and efficient care, close to his trusted doctor in the coming years, according to Van Eyck.
Previously hospitals already voted for the care agreement.
