Charges dropped against taxi driver in passenger death
The Public Prosecutor announced on Friday that the taxi driver who was arrested in May because a passenger jumped out of the cab and died, will not be prosecuted.
The taxi driver and the 27 year old passenger from Den Dungen got were fighting over payment when the man got out of the moving taxi at N617 at Sint Michielsgestel. The passenger was seriously injured and died in hospital. The driver reported what happened to the police.
A statement made by the Public Prosecutor on Thursday said that "His statement is supported by the technical investigation of the police. There is insufficient evidence to justify prosecution."
The victim's parents think that the taxi driver is not telling the whole truth. They think that he should be punished for leaving their son helpless.
