Baby formula scam, robbery case gets break
On Tuesday morning the police arrested a man suspected of involvement in the robbery and assault of three people in Rotterdam who thought he was selling baby formula.
The victims from Valkenswaard made an appointment to buy baby formula through a sales website on Monday, June 30th in Rotterdam. The two men were met by a man at the address who led them into a side street. There a gun was aimed at the victims and they were robbed of their money.
One of the victims' brother saw what was happening and came to help. The brother was assaulted and suffered a significant injury.
The robbers fled when a passerby came along.
An investigation was launched into the identities of the perpetrators, using camera images and trace evidence. The investigation led to the arrest of the 18 year old man from Rotterdam on Tuesday morning.
The investigation into the identity of other involved parties continues.
