Air Force not recruiting enough pilots
The Air Force is dealing with a worrying shortage in the recruitment of new pilots for both F-16s an helicopters.
Not even half of the required 50 aspiring pilots for 2014 have been recruited.
Lieutenant Colonel Sidney Plankman does not foresee any capacity problems in the short term. "But with the purpose of deploy-ability in future missions, it must obviously happen."
Plankman fears that many young people do not report because of the tough approval. "There are high demands, but you really do not have to be a wonder man to make it through" says Plankman.
