Money laundering ring broken up at Schiphol
On Tuesday, October 28th, the police and the Royal Military Police arrested nine men, between the ages of 19 and 24, on suspicion of money laundry. The police also arrested a driving school owner in France.
These arrest form part of a long running criminal investigation into a Amsterdam driving school.
The investigation showed that the group of men, presumably commissioned by the driving school owner, planned to take money to Lebanon. At the time they were arrested, they were already checked in for a flight to Lebanon. Each of the suspects had a sum of 9,500 euro on his person.
In total the police seized an amount of more than 85 thousand euro.
The driving school owner, a 22 year old man from Amsterdam, was arrested at an airport in Paris on Tuesday. He too was on his way to Lebanon.
