Vacant KPN HQ to become 500-room hotel
After almost four years, the largest vacant office building in Amsterdam has a new purpose.
The old KPN headquarters in Sloterdijk, The Dam, is being turned into a four star conference hotel. The hotel will have 478 rooms and approximately 4 thousand square meters of conference rooms. According to the Financieele Dagblad, the construction works will start next week.
The Israeli developer and investor Omnam Investment Group bought the building from the German fund Europe 1. The purchase and renovation of the building will cost more than 100 million euro.
Design Bureau Moooi by Marcel Wanders is responsible for the design. The hotel will be operated by Rezidor Hotel Group.
