Petrol, Diesel tax to rise 1 pct; LPG tax also up

As of January 1st, the excise tax on petrol, diesel and LPG will be even higher. Nove, the trade association for the independent fuel trade, wants the Second Chamber to cancel this increase. According to Nove, this increases the difference in excise tax between the Netherlands and neighboring countries even further. The excise tax on petrol increases by 0.9 percent to 76.6 cents per liter. According to Nove, this will mean that the Netherlands has the highest excise duty on petrol in Europe. The excise tax on diesel also increases by 0.9 percent to 48.2 cents per liter. The excise tax on LPG increases to 18.5 cents per liter.
