False alarm delays trains around Schiphol
There were no trains traveling between Schiphol and Amsterdam Zuid, Hoofdorp and Lelylaan for a short time this morning because of a fire alarm in the Schiphol tunnel.
The alarm came in around 08:00 a.m. According to the fire department in Kennemerland, the alarm went off because of a fire in a car above the tunnel, NU reports. Smoke entering the tunnel triggered the alarm.
The fire department determined it was a false alarm around 08:30 a.m. and the track was reopened. Rail traffic has started up again, but travelers should still take a delay into account.
