UberPOP drivers get 1500 euro fines

The police court in Amsterdam fined three UberPop drivers to a fine of 1,500 euros on Friday for transporting passengers for a fee without having the necessary permits. The three drivers were caught red handed in October 2014 during a "mystery-guest-action" by the Amsterdam police and the Environment and Transport Inspectorate. Inspectors of the Inspectorate booked a ride through the UberPop act and caught whoever showed up to pick them up. A fourth driver was caught on the same date, but will only appear in court at a later stage. UberPop was banned by the Court of Appeals in December 2014. Thus far there has been no response from Uber regarding these fines. But the "SAVEuberPOP" online petition that the company launched earlier this week has already been signed by 14,471 supporters.
