Mayor questioned over his housing expenses

Bussum Mayor Henk Heijman is in trouble for wrongly receiving allowances for a house he did not own. According to Het Parool, when Heijman was appointed mayor he told the municipality that he left an apartment in Achterhoek that he still needed to sell. He received allowances for his double housing costs and travel expenses. It now seems that he did not own the apartment in Achterhoek, but was renting it. Part of the city council wants the tens of thousands of euros he received to be investigated.
