ABN Amro boss stepping down sooner than planned
ABN Amro CEO Gerrit Zalm will be leaving the bank earlier than expected. Zalm is stepping down next year, instead of in 2018 when his contract ends, the Financieele Dagblad reports based on sources involved in finding a successor.
According to the newspaper, Chris Vogelzang seems most likely to succeed Zalm. He is crrently director of consumers and ABN. Vogelzang knows the bank well and is currently heading the department that makes the most profit.
Zalm started working at ABN Amro in 2009. He was named CEO in 2012.
